We did a review of the Time Warner Cable app for iPad a while ago.  With the app, you could watch select channels in your Time Warner Cable lineup on your iPad in any room of your house while you were connected to your home's WiFi network.  Now, the app has been updated into a universal app, meaning you can now enjoy your programming on your iPhone and iPod touch with the updated universal TWC TV app.  It works with iPad, iPhone 3G, 4x4S, and iPod touch 3rd or 4th generation; it requires iOS 4.3 or higher.  It's free in the iTunes app store.

While Apple's white iPod touch is the same iPod touch that millions and millions of people own and are familiar with - just in another color - it's the first device from Apple to ship with iOS 5 pre-installed. The experience right out of the box with iOS 5 is now perfect, requiring no computer whatsoever to get going. And while this doesn't yet apply to the general public since the only people with iOS 5 back-ups are developers, you can also effortlessly restore all of your backed-up information right to the device from iCloud - no syncing, no cables. Apple's iPod touch is insanely popular for many reasons, but with a new lower price point starting at only $199, a white color option to freshen things up for the holiday season, and iOS 5, Apple has another hit on its hands.

Apple iPod Touch 5G Parts Leak In The Wild (Again), Launch Probably In September!

Just days ago, we reported about a white iPod Touch to be allegedly up Apple's sleeve and awaiting launch, now more pictures adding weight to its launch-related rumour have surfaced.

The latest rumour is a spin-off by a 9to5mac report which claims that the parts of white iPod Touch 5G have allegedly leaked in the wild.

According to the report, one of its readers have managed to get his hands on the front case of the as-yet-unannounced iPod Touch 5G. Although, the parts were originally reported to be manufactured in Asia, they have somehow made their way into the land of the Apple.

There have been many rumours relating to the design and speculated set of iPod Touch 5G features. However, nothing can be ascertained or endorsed as truth until more evidential details surface. Apple's response, as usual, has been numb on the issue.

The next generation iPod Touch is expected to feature built-in 3G connectivity courtesy of an integrated SIM card, a faster dual-core processor and enhanced RAM storage among other things. Some believe that the new iPod Touch will not undergo a design overhaul while others beg to remain.

The upcoming iPhone, on the other hand, is supported by recalcitrant speculations that foresee the possibility of Apple slapping in a larger edge-to-edge display, an 8 megapixel camera, dual-LED flash, faster dual-core processor (as seen in iPad 2), doubled RAM storage, improved graphics, iOS 5 and much more.

Our friends at 9to5mac note that Apple could just release a white version of iPod Touch with no variation in external design as compared to the iPod Touch 4G alongside the release of the next-generation iPhone.

Even though an easy possibility, it remains to be seen whether Apple will let the media dilute the publicity and hype of each of these products if both the iPhone 4S/ iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5G are announced at the same time.

It is also possible that Apple may slightly delay any of these products and postpone the highly-awaited launch to focus the attention of the press and media on any one of the two, which would highly accelerate the [global] publicity of the launched device by the attending press and the noble loyal writers penning the tales from the launch event.

As days to the purported September-October launch draw closer, the extent of curiosity and anxious is beginning to rise above the horizon. Interestingly, both the next generation iPhone and the next generation iPod Touch (so far we've been seeing what appears to be a white iPod Touch 5G, anyway) are expected to be announced around the same period of time.

iPod Touch 3G image accidentally leaked by Apple

It's like clockwork: the closer we get to a supposed Apple launch date, the more “leaked” materials consumers and press uncover, building hype. We've seen plenty since the beginning of the year regarding the next iPhone and iPod Touch release, and today is no exception.

Wednesday morning iDownloadBlog discovered that Apple “accidentally” loaded a promo shot of an iPod Touch with 3G capabilities on the iTunes website. On the North American shores, the shot was quickly yanked and replaced with a new version, but the iTunes page over in the UK still conveniently displays the iPod Touch 3G without hesitation, as seen here. The only thing missing from the image is a wireless carrier icon.

The “accidental leak” follows recent rumors that the next-generation iPod Touch will feature 3G capabilities when it's revealed in September. This feature was actually spotted in iOS 5 Beta 4, represented as cellular and GPS toggles in the iCloud and Settings menu. The initial discovery led to speculation that Apple won't release an iPhone Nano, but rather intends to equip the iPod Touch with hardware capable of supporting FaceTime and iMessage over a 3G wireless network.

If that's the case, it's assumed that the new iPod Touch will require the same data plans used by the iPad 2. But as always, everything is mere speculation and rumor until Apple officially reveals the device in September.

White Apple iPod touch parts leak ahead of fall launch

Parts for a new white Apple iPod touch have surfaced, courtesy of 9to5 Mac, suggesting that Apple has plans to release a new color scheme when it takes the wraps off its next-generation iPhone in late August or early September. The leaked images show the iPod touch's digitizer component, although it is currently unclear if the unit is real or not. The Cupertino-based company has already placed orders for the new color scheme and production is slated to begin next month, according to Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. While we are expecting the iPhone 5 to pack a dual-core processor, Apple may hold off on updating the hardware guts of the iPod touch entirely. “ iPhone and iPad have higher priority to get shared components of iOS devices when the supply chain is tight (especially after the Japan quake),” Kuo explained. “It means no spec update of iPod touch this year,” Kuo said. “The demand forecast is strong and Apple prefers to allocate shared components to iPhone and iPad.” Apple already offers a white iPad and a white iPhone, so the idea of a white iPod touch doesn't sound so far fetched. White iPod Touch on the way?

If you're looking for a white iPod Touch, you might be in luck. The folks over at 9to5Mac received photographs of what is said to be the front panel of a white 4th generation iPod Touch. Since there's also no way to verify the authenticity of the panel through a photograph, there's no telling if it's real or fake. But there could be possible explanations to what this white front panel could be.

The white panel for the iPod touch could have been a panel that Apple was testing for the iPod Touch 4G but was left unreleased for unknown reasons. Other speculations put the white front as the a panel for the next generation iPod Touch - after all, there have been rumors of the next iPhone looking similar to the iPhone 4, and the iPod Touch usually follows the design of the iPhone. Could this be a clue to what the next iPhone will look like? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

But judging by mock-up renders of a white iPod Touch, the device does look pretty sweet. How many of you would pick up a white iPod Touch if it ever gets released?

The next iPod Touch to come with 3G connectivity?

In the wake of the abundant news about the iPhone 5x4GS some questionable news has surfaces regarding the iPhone's little brother, the iPod Touch. According to Applespot.Nl, the next generation iPod Touch will gain 3G connectivity.

"This will be as his work as the iPhone, where you have a 3G subscription from your ISP, then the SIM card into your iPod Touch key. The choice to add to 3G iPod Touch lineup is not even a very bad idea from Apple, it was obviously true. The only question is how this is received by the telecom farmers, since the use of Skype then will shoot up considerably."

Now the BS bells are ringing pretty loudly with this one. Why would users shell out all that money for an iPhone when they could just get an iPod Touch cheaper and with no real contract obligations? After all, at half the price, users get essentially the same experience with a iPod Touch 3G, albeit without annoying SMS Spam.

According to AppleSpot.nl, a Dutch tech site, there are rumors about the next iPod Touch being able to support the usage of 3G SIM cards. The iPod Touch is said to work just like the iPad carrying a SIM card - like a data-only iPhone.

Now we know it's a pretty farfetched rumor, considering if Apple pulls it off, there will be even less reasons for people to buy an iPhone over the iPod Touch, considering how it's possible to rely 100% on data nowadays. Users can make calls through Skype, send texts through apps like TextFree, and it would probably be cheaper than having a monthly bill for regular phone service.

There are no sources to back up the rumor of the site, but it leads to an interesting question for us to mull over - do you could survive in today's world with just a data plan on your mobile device?

Sony releases a new pair of Speakers for iPhone and iPod Touch

Sony introduced today the SRS-GX50IP SRS-GM5IP a new pair of DSP Speakers that are made for both iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4 as well as all iPod Touch families.
